Cook pasta according to instructions. Be sure to thoroughly season the water with salt and reserve 1/2 cup pasta water for later use.

Heat deep skillet over medium heat and add olive oil. Once hot, add garlic and red pepper flakes and stir for 1 minutes until fragrant. Add the sausage and sauté until lightly browned.Â

Add entire bag of spinach, pesto, and cooked pasta, along with reserved pasta water. Reduce heat to low and cover for 1 min to help the spinach melt. Stir, season to taste with salt and pepper, then garnish with cheese as desired and serve!
